Won the award for the Most cited article for the year 2011 in the journal Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering for the article “A hybrid Particle Swarm – Gradient algorithm for global structural optimization” (Top journal, ISI Journal Ranking 2018 in Civil Engineering: 1/132), with 108 citations in Scopus and 137 in Google Scholar (as of May 2020).   2. Won theEmerald Literati Network 2011 Highly Commended Award for an article he coauthored entitled “Neurocomputing Strategies for Solving Reliability-Robust Design Optimization Problems”. The article was published in Engineering Computations, 27(7), pp. 819-840, 2010.
  3. Fellowship of “EU Marie Curie Programme Actions” for the participation as a young researcher in the “9th Short Course on Computational Techniques for Plasticity”, International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE), Barcelona, Spain, 3-7 September 2007.
